Life in small town Texas
My husband and I have been living in small town Texas for about 5 months now and I absolutely love it!
Both of us coming from a big city in NM where we lived pretty much most of our lives.
Albuquerque was such a beautiful and had a rich culture in the city when we were younger and in our teens. There was constantly great concerts, food, and so much to do, but it just be came too much for use throughout the years.
We’ve been living together for years. From a one bedroom apartment, to his 90 year old grandmothers house, to then our very first home together. We got 4 cats and 1 dog. Unfortunately I can have children or I’m sure we’d have at least one by now, but anyway we lived in a nice home and both had great jobs, but the homeless took over the streets, drugs were everywhere, and we couldn’t go to our local grocery store without seeing syringes on the floor in the parking lot.
We just had enough. Enough of the crime, hearing gunshots every other night, fearing when ever we leave our home, also our jobs had us stressed out.
We finally made the decision to move. In September of 2021 we found a house and decided to make an offer and they accepted. We packed up and moved to small town Texas.
There are no homeless, no drugs or drug deals going on (that we can see), and no fear when we leave the house for a couple of hours. It feels wonderful!
I haven’t been more happy then I am right now, except for the day I said I Do to my husband!
